Little Owl (Athene noctua) is a bird of the Owls family, relatively small compared to the rest of the family. This is the most common owl in Bulgaria. Occurs in both urban and mountainous areas to 2,300 meters above sea level among rocks, steep banks, old-growth forests, single trees in fields. In autumn and winter descends in the lowlands. In Bulgaria there is a permanent species.
